The Waterberg

The Greater Waterberg Region

The Waterberg, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in South Africa’s Limpopo Province, spans 15,000 square kilometers of mountainous terrain, savanna, and woodlands, hosting diverse wildlife like rhinos and leopards. With Marakele National Park and private game reserves, it’s a hub for eco-tourism and conservation, enriched by ancient rock formations, archaeological sites, and its role as a vital water catchment area.

Modimolle

Modimolle, in South Africa’s Waterberg region, is a scenic town known for grape production and its role as a gateway to the Waterberg Biosphere Reserve. Formerly Nylstroom, it blends agricultural charm with eco-tourism, offering access to game reserves and outdoor activities amidst its hilly, fertile landscape.
