FOOT AND MOUTH OUTBREAK

Further to my earlier messages regarding the outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease on the neighbouring

farm through which our Servitude runs.

• We have changed the code for the Bottom Loubad gate and ask that this gate be used

exclusively for access to Boschhoek Mountain Estate.

• We have implemented mandatory spraying of all vehicles tyres on entering and exiting of the

estate.

• The device is simple to use and electrically operated

• The Chiranda team have been extremely helpful and have vaccinated all their cattle and are

doing their best to ensure cattle are not on the servitude.

The State Vet visited the farm Thursday, and in the interest of the neighbouring farms, he has

recommended the procedures that we are following. You are therefore requested to please:

• Not deviate from the servitude road.

• Not leave your vehicle while traversing the servitude

• Stop on the inside of the top gate on the concrete surface to either allow your vehicle to

be sprayed by a staff member, or if a staff member is not available, to self-spray the

vehicle with the available sprayer. The wheels and under the wheel arches must be

properly sprayed,

We would appeal for cooperation in this regard failing which it should be noted that the area is

being monitored by Cameras, and a penalty will be invoked if a person fails to follow these

instructions.
